HTC One vs Sony Xperia Z - Comparison and Review
In the early months of 2013, we have seen some powerful flagships from all the smartphones manufactures. But as usual, android is leading the battle over iOS & BB. This time I've decided to write a review on the two major android phones, the HTC One (also known as HTC M7) & Sony Xperia Z. After reading the full post, you'll surely discover that which one is better so let us start the review.
Processor
Looking at the processor of both, HTC One has an impressive 1.7 GHz quad core processor which gives users fast & flawless experience. On the other hand, Sony Xperia Z also comes with 1.5 GHz quad core processor which is also good. So that is the point where HTC One has an edge over Xperia Z due to its better clock-speed otherwise both phones are super-fast & powerful.
RAM
Lets have a look at the RAM of both devices. Looking at HTC One, it has 2GB of RAM & same is the case with Xperia Z which also comes with 2GB of RAM so this time, a tie.
Camera
The is the point which every person consider at the time of purchasing a smartphone. Looking at the camera of HTC One, it has 4MP rear camera with LED flash, auto-focus, geo-tagging, records full HD videos (1080p) @30fps & 720p @60fps. It also has a front facing HD camera of 2.1MP. The first question which comes in the mind of every person is that only 4MP camera??? It look small but never forget that HTC named it as 4 ultra-pixel which means it would compete with devices having cameras with great pixel density.
Now we look at Xperia Z which has 13.1 MP rear camera with auto-focus, LED flash & features like geo-tagging, touch focus, image stabilization & sweep panorama etc. It also shoots full HD videos at the frame rate of 30. It also has front facing HD camera of 2.2 MP (1080p @30fps).
So looking at these analysis, we can say that Xperia Z is leading over One in this case.
Screen Size & Pixel Density
Coming on to the screen size of HTC One, it comes with 4.7 inches Super LCD3 capacitive touchscreen having resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels with protection of Corning Gorilla Glass 2. On the other hand, Xperia Z has full diplay of 5.0 inches TFT capacitive touchscreen having resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixel with protection of scratch resistant glass. But apart from screen size, HTC One looks ahead with great pixel density (~469 ppi) over Xperia Z (~441 ppi pixel density). So HTC One is still leading the battle.
Weight & Protection
Apart from that HTC One is a little bit lighter than Sony Xperia Z (143g vs 146g), this is the point where Xperia Z leads over One due to its Dust & Water Resistant body which is great for those people who spend most of their time at those places where they have to face mud & water.
Storage
Looking at the storage capacity of Sony Xperia Z, it comes with 16 GB of internal storage which can be expanded with Micro SD upto 64GB. On the other hand, HTC One gives us a better option with 32/64 GB of internal storage which looks great but the point where it lacks is "No Card Slot", but overall, HTC One is still winning the race with lots of plus points.
Extra Features
Now looking at the extra features of both, they comes with Android 4.1.2 (Jelly Bean) which is upgradable upto latest version of android, both have adreno 320 GPU & have extra features like Accelerometer, gyro, proximity, compass, HTML5, voice memo, TV-out etc.
Conclusion
Coming on to the results, the whole review tells that both devices have plus points as well as some drawbacks like Sony Xperia Z design is almost same as all old Sony devices have. On the other hand, HTC One comes with the latest design & also has a great feature which I like the most, is Beats Audio. So If I would have to choose the best smartphone among those, I will definitely go for HTC One.
