Torrentz.eu Taken Down By UK's Anti-Piracy Police

Torrentz.eu Blocked
The world largest internet search engine for torrents, torrentz.eu, has been taken by the anti-piracy police of UK.

According to The Independent , the reason UK's anti-piracy police told is that torrentz.eu was the major source of getting/searching illegal file torrents. After a request from the UK’s Police Intellectual Property Crime Unit, the domain of this search engine was suspended by the registrar of its domain.

From the last 6-8 months, anti-piracy police was sending the warning letters to the owners of torrentz.eu but they were constantly ignoring them. Yesterday morning, they seized the domain.

A similar site, FileCrop, has also been taken down, and others may follow. Torrentfreak, a website close to the community, reports that several allegedly infringing sites were contacted before the weekend.

Many competitors have also been taken offline recently. Two of Torrentz.eu’s most significant peers — isoHunt and The Pirate Bay — have been taken down completely or blocked in many countries.

According to the reports, UK's anti-piracy police has also blocked some other sites for spreading infringing material. These sites are:
