Mobilink Annouced Its 3G Packages

Finally, the biggest cellular company of Pakistan, Mobilink announced its 3G packages. Few days ago, Mobilink officials said that they are all set to launch their 3G services commercially from July 18, 2014. Now the customers will be charges for the 3G services from today.

Mobilink have announced various bundles and options for the customers to use 3G services. Users will have the choice to choose from Daily, 3-Day, Weekly and Monthly bundles.

Activating 3G

Unlike other networks, the Mobilink customers will have to activate 3G on their handsets first before they able to use 3G services. To activate 3G services, customers will have to dial *443# and select "3G Activation" option. Alternatively, you can send SUB to 7003. 

After this, you will receive a confirmation message in which they ask you to reboot your phone. After rebooting, 3G will be activated on your phone.

3G Packages

Customers will have the option of multiple bundles to choose from. Interestingly, these packages are not auto-renewable so you have to manually subscribe to the relative package everytime it expires.

1. 3G bundles can be subscribed and consumed in both 2G and 3G networks.
2. 3G bundles can be consumed at 3G speed within 3G network and at best possible speed within 2G network.
3. Tax is not applicable on Mobile Internet Usage and subscription charges.
4. Offered 3G data bundles will not auto-subscribe. Bundles need to be subscribed again upon expiry.
5. Base rate is a default rate. This means that if you are not subscribed to any bundle, you will be charged according to base rate i.e. PKR 18/ MB at 2G speed even if subscriber is connected to a 3G network. Charging pulse will be 64 KB.
6. Video call will be activated by default along with 3G services.
7. The billing pulse for Video Calling is 30 seconds.
8. Currently just only on-net Video Calling is available.
9. Video Calling is only possible in 3G network and will require a handset capable of making a video call.
